Lake Gramolazzo is an artificial reservoir created in the second half of the 1900s for the hydroelectric exploitation of the Serchio river and its tributaries.
It boasts a surface area of one square kilometre, a volume of 3.8 million cubic meters and a maximum depth of 15 metres. In recent years, the Municipal Administration has carried out an important redevelopment and tourist development work on the left bank which led to the inauguration of the Lake Park in 2016, which includes a cycle-pedestrian path, structures for hosting picnics and barbecues , a fitness area, a beach and a small pier with a jetty. Further interventions are also planned on the right bank of the lake until a ring around the perimeter of the reservoir is completed.
During the summer, bathing is permitted and throughout the area it is possible to walk, jog, canoe and sport fish.
